Death of Lee Kuan Yew

Lee Kuan Yew, the first Prime Minister of Singapore and former leader of the People's Action Party, died at the age of 91 on 23 March 2015, after being hospitalised with severe pneumonia on 5 February 2015. Many world leaders issued public condolences.
Lee's son, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, declared a week-long period of national mourning from 23 to 29 March 2015. All flags, including the National Flag, were flown at half-mast during the period.
